Have I ever said I was thinking of making a samurai thread here?
Well, I don't remember. But recently I discovered something I made some time ago. It was basically a character intro, this character being a samurai. Now, I may include a plot or make this a free thread, or something like that. But I do love samurai and Japanese things, so tell me if you would like this... If you are to join, though, you might want a good idea of how to fight in a roleplay, orbe able to get your character(s) out of situations.
And I'm looking for support by people I've roleplayed with before and experienced roleplayers. If you want to know if you'll be able to join, ask me. Most of you should have an idea.
Also, I haven't roleplayed in so long I suck now. So help me learn.
This time it's something I've already started so I won't get so lazy as to not attempt anything more. It'll get done if people show interest.

I'll support it.
I'm not that good, but I did peak once a few years ago where I made at least 1k character posts each time. That was fun :3 But I also suck as well.... I think I could do better if I tried maybe.
But completely support it. 200%

I'll throw my lot in with anything based on the ancient japanese. Thought I'll probably have to use a ninja as my character, seeing as the samurai were sort of unstoppable in combat... >_>
Ninja were at least creative in their methods... Trip mines, ambush canons, pitfalls... >3
Anywho, yeah. MAEK DIS THRED NAO PLEEZ! =D

Not really unstoppable.
Never really thought about ninjas, but I'll definitely allow that. Or anything else Japanese related, to an extent of course.
But alright, it's a start.
Also, for people I decide are not very experienced roleplayers, or I think are power-players, I will limit your weapons and abilities. A lot. Untiilll I think you're ready for more.

Just for the record... this is going to be a normal-fighting thread, right? None of that Jutsu crap and superpowers? Just straight swordplay?

*Giggles childishly* Swordplay...
But yeah, Samurai's have a lot of weaknesses, like honour and that kinda stuff. Hurt a Samurai's honour, and you damage his whole life. Past, present and future really.
And a Samurai versus a Ninja would be frekkin' awesome. Smoke bombs get thrown down, then the Samurai does like an awesome sword slash and the smoke gets blown away. But more realistic or something :3

In a real fight between a ninja and a samurai, four ninja would lay down a hollowed out log stuffed with Chinese fireworks, and use it as a landmine. Then, when the samurai came by on his horse, they trip the explosives, which were accompanied by shards of metal and glass.
After the horse was dead, and the samurai was picking shards of metal from his armor, the ninja would ambush him... There are stories of samurai who survived this, even... Men who, while bleeding from all over, slaughtered four would-be assassins...
I'm just more interested in playing a ninja, since I learned a lot of traps last year... >3

Making not only an admirable opponent....but a fearless one too. For an opponent that isn't afraid to die...fights with all they have...It's like fighting someone that has nothing to lose.

But their first loyalty was always to the self, Sin. Samurai would not needlessly throw their lives away. They only entered a battle that had a chance of a victorious outcome. That's why samurai were scary. If you saw one, it meant he had reason to believe you'd already lost the war...

This will be more of a realistic thread, yes. I don't want fantasy crud in it. Just sword fights, some unexpected encounters, and a few twists.
Anyone that joins has to be as realistic as possible.
