Hey guys, but for the first update, i used some of your names, i hope you dont mind.
Im going to atleast play through the first year, and if there is still no interest by the end of it, then ill just call it quits.
Done Spring, so im done this update!
Spring1st of Granite Journal of Brock, Expedition leader and reclaimer of Quakeceillings;
Dear Journal, today, me and my six companions reclaimed the the mine Quakeceillings, which had been killed off within the first six months by a mob of trogolodytes, from caverns deep within the mines. Learning from their mistake, our first order of business was to floor off the mineshaft just above these deep caverns, so that we could still mine out the valuable ores within it. Not that they had left us with nothing, anyways.
They had already collected a substantial amount of building material, and it appears they had struck, amongst other things, gold and platinum! They had also carved out temporary living quarters for thirteen, only partially finished, a meeting hall, and a small area for workshops containing a carpenter's workshop, a wood burners station (to power the smelter) an ore smelter, and a metalsmiths forge. And thats not all they left us.
THIRTY THREE STORIES BELOW GROUND, and not even the lowest point, or the safest, considering the trogolodyte skeleton lying in the middle of the room. However, it is arguably the richest spot we can safely reach without worrying about being overrun by those cave savages.
I travelled here with six companions:
Guy, the fisherman; He feeds our sorry asses so we dont starve.
Skittles, the lumberjack; He make sure we have stuff to make wooden furniture with and to burn to make charcoal, for the smelters.
Sin and Bax, both miners; They get the money material out of the ground.
Tink, the all around construction worker and furnisher maker; So instead of sleeping on stone floors, we may sleep on beds and have doors and chairs and tables and - anything wooden.
And Fred, a man with no notable skills, but can still be put to work (or, if necessary, taught skills); Still important, because he does those little tasks that still need to get done.
I, am a metalworker, even though i work with just about everything we dig out of the ground. My job is to make sure the stuff all my dimwitted (maybe with the exception of tink, though, ill have to keep an eye on her, she is almost as professionally taught in her trade, and dare i say it, smart as i am...) collegues dig/cut out of the ground is made into something useful or profitable, so we can trade it for stuff we need. That metal needs to be mined and hauled, but WE make a much better haul off of it if we turn it into something useful. Even though the mine itself is literally a gold mine (seriously, there is some fucking gold in them there hills, and silver, and platinum and bronze, and FUCKING DIAMONDS! I am so glad those last guys got bumped off, the dumb fucks.) we can all use some more money, right?
10th of SlateAfter about forty days of just hauling everything into their respective stockpiles and making this place look a little like shit, Bax and Sin finally hauled their lazy asses down into the mine to start digging out the valuables. It looks much nicer now. Although, the red has not run out of the sand yet, and i cant help but wonder if it was always RED sand...
21st SlateHooooooooooooleeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiit.
That may not look like a lot, but the ramifications are SIGNIFICANT. IE: That is a fucking huge deposit of not only gold, but silver too and some zirconium gems! You just cant see most of it - yet.
And a shit ton of other things, too.
5th of FelsiteIs there some reason Bax and Sin are fucking around with Spiderman?
1st of HematiteWe've made some progress, and mine has been expanded, but we will need to build around the chasm to get to the gold, but there is plenty of the silver on the way, though, so i can live with that. Although, if Bax and Sin keep fucking around, we will never get there.
Tink has begun working on a table and some chairs so we can have a proper dinning room, although we are working so hard we wont have much chance to use it (im probably going to lock the door-time wasted is money lost.) And ive been making Silver goblets for us to start.
Here's to our first steps toward an early retirement.
